There are many types of memory cards available in the market today. Depending on your needs, different memory cards can be used to store different things. Now a 1GB memory card is available, with enough capacity to store 1 billion bytes of data.

If you need a memory card to store digital files, you can use the USB Flash Pen Drives which are of considerably good capacities. But they are only functional if your computer is equipped with USB Ports.

For storage in mobile phones, you can use a detachable flash memory card known as a Micro-SD Card. The storage capacity of these cards has been increased and they are now extended to portable audio players and USB Flash Memory Drives. Cheap Mini SD Cards are also available in the market at very affordable prices.

You can even store music, videos and photos on your mobile phones with the SanDisk Memory Stick Micro M2, but your phones have to be M2-able. There are two versions of different capacities available, and they are 512 MB or 1 GB.

MMC Plus Cards are much similar to SD Cards, but it has better speed than SD Cards and the original MMC Cards. Cheap MMC Mobile Cards are sold at around $15
